Composite TechnicianNammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.How you will be rewarded as a Composite TechnicianMonday-Thursday work week working four 10-hour daysOff on FridaysGenerous paid time off and Holiday PayMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance401(K), employee assistance programs, flexible spending accountPrimary ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and optimization of the production of composite tubesFabricates, cures carbon fiber composite tubes.Builds laminated assemblies in a filament winding operation, apply composite, plastic and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds.Troubleshoot equipment, monitor process parameters, adjust equipment settings as needed to obtain parts that meet customer drawings and internal requirements.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawingsSet up spray booths to apply etching and primer compound to tubesLoad/unload winding machine mandrels into oven, run cure cyclesPull mandrels from composite structure (de-mold)Operate compression test machine to verify proof loadsRun daily production quantitiesRecognize and report all operational variances as trainedAbility to use a computer and database to download work instructionsBasic knowledge in using precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.Required Experience & SkillsHigh School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and processing of advanced composite materials preferredAbility to interact and communicate as part of a highly functioning teamMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishAbility to obtain BATF approval to work with our products.*Note*: Due to US Export Control laws and regulations; applicants selected for employment must show proof of a U.S. Person status before employment may begin.Our values are the fundamental principles guiding the way we do business and interact with stakeholders.DEDICATION: We are enthusiastic and creative, always searching for the best solutions.PRECISION: We are reliable and accurate in our technology, processes and business.CARE: We are inclusive and open-minded, always encouraging team spirit and cooperation.Nammo and its subsidiaries provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
